Australian Match Rifle Association

In Australia the overarching Association for Match Rifle & Long Range F Class shooting is the Australian Match Rifle Association (AMRA). AMRA is formed under the auspices of the National Rifle Association of Australia and all shooters must be NRAA members through their State affiliated Association to participate in competitions.

The purpose of AMRA is:

  1. To promote and encourage Match Rifle and compatible F Class shooting in Australia

  2. To oversee and coordinate Match Rifle and compatible F Class shooting in Australia

  3. To encourage team shooting in Match Rifle and compatible F Class disciplines

South Australian Match Rifle Club

Dates for competitions can be found in the Calendar section of this website. In general there are a range of major Match Rifle and Long Range F Class shooting events held throughout the year. South Australia, NSW, Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania all hold annual State Championships. The National Championships are held every 18-24 months and different States have local clubs that hold club shoots throughout the year. The Club Shoots are a good opportunity for new Match Rifle & Long Range F Class Shooters to try the sport as there are always experienced Match Rifle & Long Range F Class Shooters available to provide advice and assistance.
