Match Rifle Career:

Like my TR career. Lots of enforced time out but have shot for NSW several times, one appearance in Australian team as shooter and wind judge UK 2006. Two shoots in the Hopton for 13th. and 17th places ’06 and ’08 respectively. Won South. Australian and Victorian MR Championships in 2007.

Commenced:

1995 saw me at Ungarie with TR range rifle and  155gn. Sierra Match Kings. (Serious stuff).  Now use

P model Barnard and 8-32 Nightforce  driving 208 gn. Amax

 Most Memorable Shooting Moment:

Winning the Wimbledon match at Stickledown in 2008

Winning Strategy:

Make sure all gear and ammo is AOK. Fire one good shot at a time.

Advice For New Match Rifle Shooters:

1) Group should be under 3” at 600 yds.

2)  Extreme spread under 15 fps. (20 shots)

3)  High  velocity achieved through careful chambering, powder selection and projectile weight but not at primer popping pressures.

4) No’s 1) & 2) are much more important than 3)

5) A hit on the target at 1200 yds. has a very different meaning to a hit on the target in TR.
